During this spell of cold, snowy weather, the VV is reminded of a setting in her forthcoming novel,
The Somnambulist, where the narrator, her mother and aunt make an annual pilgrimage to visit the family grave. The cemetery's setting is based on that of
Tower Hamlet's Cemetery in Bow.
